About the presenters:
Monem Salam is executive director at Saturna Capital, investment adviser to the Amana Funds. He speaks at Islamic finance/investment conferences worldwide and he is co-author of "A Muslim's Guide to Investing and Personal Finance." Monem has authored chapters on Islamic Investing in both Contemporary Islamic Finance and Islamic Capital Markets and he contributes articles to leading Islamic financial magazines. As a mark of recognition of his achievements in Islamic economy, Monem was ranked among 500 of the Islamic world's most prominent and influential leaders by ISLAMICA 500 in 2015. In December 2018, he received the prestigious Award in Sincerity from Islamic Relief USA.

Sameer Sarmast is regional manager and financial planner at Saturna Capital. He has 15+ years of experience within the financial services industry. His background includes roles in retail, banking, and wealth management. Previous to Saturna, he worked for Wachovia Bank and JPMorgan Chase. As a vice president and private client advisor at JPMorgan Chase, Sameer managed investments for affluent clients in the NYC metro area.

Wesam Berjaoui is director of sales at UIF Corporation, specializing in home, commercial, and community center financing for the Muslim community. During his 11+ years of experience in the Islamic finance industry, Wesam has worked with a wide variety of home financing situations, including in his prior role as regional manager at Guidance Residential.
