ISGL Blood Drive

On Saturday June 23rd, ISGL will be hosting their third annual blood drive in collaboration with the Blood Donor Center at Massachusetts General Hospital. A Bloodmobile (bus) will be on site between the hours of 8:30 AM and 2 PM to perform the blood extraction.
Allah almighty states in the Quran: "And whoever saves a life it is as if he had saved mankind entirely." [Surah Al-Ma'idah 32]
The Prophet peace be upon him said: "Allah is at the aid of his slave as long as he is at the aid of his brother." (Muslim 1508)
Nearly 4,500,000 lives are saved every year from blood donations. There is no substitute for human blood. Every two seconds there is someone in need of blood. It is our obligation as as believers to protect, preserve, save & honor life, it is the commandment of Allah SWT & the teaching of the Prophet SAW. Any person who is healthy enough to donate their blood in order to save life is not only allowed to do so but some cases obliged to do so.

We are looking for volunteers from 8 am to 2:30 pm on that day. You do not have to volunteer for the whole time, you can sign up for any amount of time. Sisters and Brothers are welcome. Few example of tasks (not limited to this list):
1. check in people as they arrive.
2. Register walk-ins (only if we have slot open)
3. Control access to the blood donation bus
