Allah almighty states in the Quran: "And whoever saves a life it is as if he had saved mankind entirely." [Surah Maideh 32]
The Prophet peace be upon him said: "Allah is at the aid of his slave as long as he is at the aid of his brother." (Muslim 1508)
Nearly 4,500,000 lives are saved every year from blood donations. There is no substitute for human blood. Every two seconds there is someone in need of blood. It is our obligation as as believers to protect, preserve, save & honor life, it is the commandment of Allah SWT & the teaching of the Prophet SAW. Any person who is healthy enough to donate their blood in order to save life is not only allowed to do so but some cases obliged to do so.
On Sunday September 22nd, ISGL will be hosting their fourth annual blood drive in collaboration with the Blood Donor Center at Massachusetts General Hospital. A Bloodmobile (bus) will be on site between the hours of 8:30 AM and 2 PM to perform the blood extraction.
